 1) What information do media companies use to create a demographic profile of their audience? 

Age Gender Race Social class Area


2) Why are media companies and advertisers increasingly using audience profiling and not just demographics?

Demographics is not an effective way of categorising because people that look the same or are the same age will have different interests and hobbies.

3) What are the seven different Psychographic groups? 

The Aspirer The Mainstream The Struggler The Resigned The Succeeder The Explorer Reformer.

4) Write a brief summary of what each Psychographic group is seeking or motivated by.

The aspirer is motivated by impressing others n driven by other peoples perception.
The succeeder is responsible in society and seek out the best.
The mainstream seeks for value of money and respond to big established brands.
The resigned are predominantly older people and stick to things familiar to them.
The struggler is people who live for today and are heavy consumers.
The explorer seeks to try new things and often likes to try it first.

5) What psychographic group or groups do YOU belong in? Think about your own interests and lifestyle and explain your decision. Remember, you may fit into two or three different groups! 

i think i belong in the succeder because i want to seek out the best in the world.
